What is the difference between CGST, SGST, and IGST?
For intra-state (within same state) transactions, GST is split equally: 50% goes as Central GST (CGST) to the central government, 50% as State GST (SGST) to the state. For inter-state transactions, the entire GST is collected as Integrated GST (IGST) by the centre and later distributed.
Who needs to register for GST?
Businesses with annual turnover above ₹40 lakh (₹20 lakh for services, ₹10 lakh for special category states) must register for GST. E-commerce sellers must register regardless of turnover.
